Roya specializes in helping clients manage anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and navigate major life transitions such as immigration, marriage, and parenthood. Additionally, she assists couples in overcoming relationship challenges. Using a holistic approach, Roya integrates techniques from CBT, DBT, and Gottman couples therapy, tailored to each client’s unique cultural background.
Before becoming a counselor, Roya spent a decade as a psychiatric nurse, gaining valuable insight into mental health and well-being. Drawing from her background as a psychiatric nurse, she brings a wealth of experience and understanding to her practice. Having personally experienced significant life transitions, including immigration and motherhood, Roya values the importance of empathy and support in navigating life’s challenges. She has personally experienced the benefits of counselling and is passionate about helping others facing similar challenges. Fluent in English, Farsi, and Kurdish, Roya values cultural diversity and integrates it into her therapeutic methods. As a mother and immigrant, she understands the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive environment for personal growth and healing.
